Manufacturers of microscopes for scientific and technical applications, UHL are able to draw on whole decades of know-how in the production of high-precision positioning units. To do justice to increasing demands made by users on delivery deadlines and cost, the positioning systems are based on add-a-unit principles similar to the components used for optical installations. This method makes it possible to assemble even complex, multiaxis systems - including control systems - to meet customers' individual requirements within a very short time so as to expedite delivery. All units of equipment are engineered and assembled by highly qualified specialists at the company's plant based in Aßlar near Wetzlar. Our staff uphold the fine traditions built up in an area noted for its precision products all over the world (Leitz, Zeiss, Pfeiffer Vacuum). High standards of training and years of experience invested in the production of precision-engineered components ensure neat and high-grade workmanship. Another reason for the outstanding precision standards distinguishing UHL products is the exclusive use of first-class ancillary components (e.g. Schneeberger, Heidenhain).
Linear Tables Our linear tables are distinguished in particular by their high accuracy combined with sturdiness. Selected junction roller guides and prestressed, backlash-free ballscrews contribute to highest standards of positioning accuracy. Our own optimized production technology as well as in-house assembly warrant operational precision standards that even penetrate the realms of air-bearing technology. For example, our LT5-LxxA is geared to maximum levelness and linearity deviation of 1µm over the entire stroke of 100 mm. Open Cross-Tables In the field of microscopic optics, the open cross-tables in the KT series are mainly used as two-axis stage precision positioning units. The open form of design enables an object to be illuminated from underneath. The scope of delivery includes a plane-parallel glass plate. The drive concept is a modular design, thus facilitating individual configuration the meet the specific needs of the user. Closed Cross-Tables The cross-tables in the GT series are consistently geared to highest precision standards enhanced by pronounced rigidity. The comparator-adapted arrangement of the high-resolution measuring systems and the prestressed, backlash-free ballscrews between the junction roller guides combine to reduce positioning errors to a minimum. The extra rigid monolithic construction ensures outstanding reproducibility. On account of this compact design, which rules out risks of crushing while facilitating cable layout towards one side, the tables in the GT series are particularly suitable for open systems imposing exacting demands on operational and positioning accuracy. Rotary Turntables All rotary turntables are equipped with double prestressed ball-bearing systems and are designed to withstand a high load-bearing capacity while revealing truth of rotation. Manual, stepping-motor or DC-motor drive options are provided in conjunction with prestressed, backlash-free worm gear. This caters for excellent reproducibility to meet discriminating demands. Stands A range of stands has been specially designed for the OEM range, greatly facilitating the use of cross-tables and linear tables for customer-specific applications. The stands reveal high accuracy as regards flatness and angularity of the reference surfaces. Exclusive use is made of natural hard rock material. Used in conjunction with the cross-tables and linear tables they meet sophisticated system requirements. As a result of the modular concept of design there are no limits to individual application. Control Systems Linkage of our stepping-motor control system F9S-x-x up to our cross-tables, linear tables or rotary turntables creates positioning systems ready for use which can be put into operation by the user without the need for any further adaptation or adjustment (plug and play system). Depending on the version, the control system can be made to operate two or three axes (F9S-2-O or F9S-3-O) and to process optional measuring system signals (F9S-2-M or F9S-3-M). They are suitable for positionings up to 0.1µm and can be operated as standalone units or in conjunction with the PC via the RS232 interface. Delivery is complete with a joystick and set of cables for the UHL measuring tables. |
